Danielle Uskiwich of St. Charles has sadly passed away following injuries she suffered during a concert accident earlier this month, leaving her family, friends, coworkers, and students heartbroken.
Dani, who worked as an attendance secretary at St. Charles High School, was attending Pointfest on May 16 when she was accidentally struck in the head by a crowd surfer, according to information shared by loved ones. After later seeking medical treatment for severe headaches, doctors discovered a brain bleed. She subsequently suffered two strokes and was placed into a medically induced coma while doctors monitored swelling in her brain.
Despite an outpouring of community support and thousands raised through a GoFundMe campaign, Dani sadly did not recover from her injuries.
Before joining St. Charles High School, Dani also worked at Hardin Middle School, where staff members remembered her as someone who genuinely cared about students and built strong relationships with families and coworkers. In a tribute shared by the school, colleagues described her as a friendly and welcoming face who made people feel comfortable and valued.
Friends say Dani had a bright personality, a great sense of humor, and a heart that naturally drew people toward her. She loved the St. Louis Blues and was excitedly planning her wedding before the tragic accident changed everything.
Those closest to her say she always put others first and had a way of making people feel seen and appreciated. Her death has deeply affected the St. Charles community, where many continue sharing memories and messages of support for her loved ones.
In one final act of generosity, Dani’s family honored her wishes through organ donation. Hospital staff reportedly held an emotional honor walk before she was transported to Mid-America Transplant.
She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the impact she made on so many lives.
