Kyle Schreckenberg Obituary, Columbia, IL Death – In Loving Memory

With profound sadness, the family of Kyle Matthew Schreckenberg announces his passing on May 21, 2026, at the age of 25. Surrounded by the love of his family, Kyle left this world far too soon, leaving behind countless cherished memories and an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Born on May 24, 2000, in St. Louis alongside his twin brother Christopher, Kyle grew up surrounded by deep family bonds and lifelong friendships. He shared an especially close relationship with his brothers, Kevin and Chris, and together they formed a connection rooted in loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.

Kyle was known for his radiant smile, compassionate spirit, and ability to brighten any room he entered. Friends and family remember him as someone who genuinely cared for others and was always willing to help whenever needed. Whether spending time with loved ones, traveling, enjoying road trips, exploring new restaurants, or working out at the gym, Kyle embraced life with enthusiasm and kindness.

A graduate of Columbia High School and Southwestern Illinois College, Kyle built a successful career as a salesman at Suntrup Hyundai. Known for his honesty, transparency, and integrity, he earned the admiration of coworkers and customers alike, many of whom returned specifically because of the trust and respect he inspired.

Even in passing, Kyle’s kindness continued through his decision to become an organ donor, helping save the lives of others in one final selfless act.

Kyle was preceded in death by his uncle, Daniel Schreckenberg. He is survived by his loving parents, Tad and Ruth Schreckenberg; brothers Kevin and Christopher; grandparents; and numerous extended family members who cherished him deeply.

Visitation will be held at Braun Family Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Family Church on Saturday, May 30, at 10 a.m.

Kyle Matthew Schreckenberg will forever be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him.
